Mumbai's Terminal 2 has quietly become one of the better airports in Asia for premium passengers, and the Adani First Class Lounge in the international departures area is a good example of why. A recent visit ahead of an Emirates A380 departure to Dubai offers a useful picture of what to expect.
The lounge sits airside in the West Wing of Terminal 2, close to gate 85, and runs 24 hours a day. Once you have a boarding pass you can enter the terminal up to four hours before departure — handy on late-night flights, when airline check-in desks often don't open until close to departure. That's exactly what happened here: Emirates wouldn't accept bags until midnight, but an online-checked boarding pass meant the visitor could clear security and immigration early and settle into the lounge instead of hanging around the kerb.
The first class section itself is not a separate lounge but a roped-off corner with an L-shaped run of booths plus a few armchairs, next to the main buffet. Access is relaxed — first class passengers can wander the wider space, which also serves business class travellers. À la carte dining runs from 11am to 4pm and 8pm to 2am, with a menu mixing Western, East Asian and Central Asian dishes. The grilled New Zealand lamb chops were the pick, though the kitchen only cooks them medium well or beyond. There's a full bar with barista coffee, beer, wine and spirits, plus self-serve soft drinks, tea and juice. Shower suites are in the main lounge, and the first class section has small dedicated restrooms.
The standout perk is the spa: a complimentary 20-minute foot massage for first class guests, subject to availability. It used to be a 30-minute treatment of your choice, including full body, so the offering has shrunk — and the value can't be swapped for a paid upgrade. Still, walking onto a long-haul flight with freshly massaged feet is no small thing. Wi-Fi comes via a connect card with a unique password, which saves you the airport network's tedious passport-and-phone-number sign-up. Service was attentive, with a waiter appearing immediately and circling back for drink refills.
Why it matters: if you're flying first — or top-tier Emirates and partner status holders — out of Mumbai late at night, this lounge solves a real problem. Rather than paying for an extra hotel night just to fill hours before check-in opens, you can eat properly, shower, get a massage and work or rest in relative calm. The buffet area gets busy, so the roped-off first class corner is worth seeking out. It's a genuinely practical reason to arrive at BOM early rather than dreading the wait.
