Scenic Group, the Australian company behind Scenic and Emerald cruises, is celebrating its 40th birthday this October with a mix of onboard festivities, loyalty departures and a limited-time booking discount worth knowing about if you're eyeing a 2027 river or yacht sailing.

The anniversary programme runs across the fleet, with special dining events, themed entertainment and commemorative experiences for guests. Two loyalty departures stand out: the annual Scenic Discovery Yachts Chairman's Voyage in the United States, calling at Wilmington, Charleston and Key West, and a Scenic Romantic Rhine & Moselle river cruise paired with a Switzerland land extension — topped off with an exclusive dinner in Lucerne hosted by Scenic Group management. Founder and chairman Glen Moroney, who started the company in Australia in 1986, used the milestone to point out that the group now operates across all seven continents.

The savings side is more interesting for anyone actively booking. From October 12–26, 2026, travellers booking through Scenic Group USA & LATAM can knock an extra $200 per person off select 2026 and 2027 departures using the code BOOST26. The list is broad: Scenic's Rhine and Danube river itineraries (including Gems of the Danube, Rhine Highlights and both the Danube and Rhine Christmas Markets sailings), select 2027 Western Mediterranean departures on Scenic Discovery Yachts, Emerald's Rhine and Danube river cruises (from Danube Delights to Christmas Markets on the Rhine), and Emerald Yachts sailings in the Caribbean and Seychelles between November 2026 and March 2027.

There's also a growth story behind the party. The fleet is expanding on both rivers and oceans: Emerald Lumi joins the Seine in 2027, followed by Scenic Spirit II and Scenic Spirit III on the Mekong in 2028. On the ocean side, Emerald Raiya arrives in 2027, with Emerald Xara and Scenic Ikon following in 2028.

Why should a traveller care? The two-week promo window is short but covers genuinely popular products — Christmas market sailings on the Rhine and Danube tend to sell out early, and an extra $200 per person off is a real dent in a premium-priced fare. The anniversary departures, particularly the Lucerne dinner, will appeal to repeat guests and loyalty members who want something a bit more event-led than a standard sailing. And if you've been waiting on new hardware, the 2027–2028 ship launches give you a reason to hold out for a maiden-season itinerary instead.

Worth remembering: the BOOST26 discount applies to bookings made through Scenic Group USA & LATAM between October 12 and 26, 2026, and only on the select departures listed, so check your specific date and itinerary before assuming it applies. Cruise Industry News reported the details.
