Etobicoke's biggest mall is about to get a lot more interesting. CF Sherway Gardens, the upscale shopping centre in Toronto's west end, has unveiled plans to overhaul its south wing — filling the enormous space left behind when Nordstrom exited — with a mix of entertainment, essentials and a few firsts for the city.

The headline act is Splitsville Bowl, a 34,000-square-foot flagship opening on Level 1 in Fall 2027. This isn't your grandfather's bowling alley: the venue promises 22 ten-pin lanes, an interactive arcade and a proper food-and-beverage program, positioning itself as a social hangout rather than just a place to roll a few frames.

Next door on the same level, Quebec-based Imaginaire will open its first-ever Toronto location in Fall 2027. The chain has built a loyal following across la belle province with its mix of board games, trading and sports cards, comics, manga, puzzles and hobby gear — basically a temple for anyone who takes game night seriously.

Bargain hunters get their win too: Winners is set to take nearly 40,000 square feet on Level 2, also slated for Fall 2027. And the changes don't stop at the south wing. T&T Supermarket, Canada's beloved Asian grocery chain, moves into the former Pusateri's space in Summer 2027, while Italian brands Intimissimi and Calzedonia will both make their Canadian debuts at the mall.

For locals this is a convenience story — one more reason to skip the drive downtown. But for travellers, it's worth filing away too. Sherway Gardens has long been one of Toronto's premier shopping destinations, and this refresh turns it into more of a full-day outing: you could browse European fashion, stock up on snacks at T&T, lose an hour in Imaginaire and finish with dinner and bowling under one roof. With a direct connection to the TTC's Line 2 extension at Etobicoke Centre and easy highway access, it's a low-effort detour for anyone staying in the west end or passing through on the way to Mississauga or Pearson.

The full rollout stretches across Summer and Fall 2027, so plan accordingly — early 2027 visitors will still see a mall in transition. General manager Sheila Jennings has framed the revamp as an attempt to make every visit an "experience" rather than an errand, and with a bowling flagship, a first-in-Toronto games retailer and a Canadian debut for two Italian brands all landing at once, it's shaping up to be one of the more interesting retail stories in the GTA over the next couple of years.
