Dubai's flight board is filling up again. Between October 23 and November 1, four European carriers restart services to the city, with two more following shortly after – handy timing if you're planning a winter sun break or, from the Dubai side, a European city trip.
First back is Greece's Aegean Airlines, resuming Dubai–Athens flights on October 23 with evening departures on selected days. It's a direct link to the Greek capital and an easy springboard to the islands.
Two days later, on October 25, Lufthansa returns with flights to both of its German hubs, Frankfurt and Munich. Beyond the two cities themselves – Munich's Christmas markets are a big draw in December – the route opens up Lufthansa's wider network across Germany and Europe.
SWISS follows on October 27 with its Dubai–Zurich service, restoring a straightforward option for a Swiss trip, whether that's Zurich's old town or a short train ride to the mountains.
The last of the October-November wave is Eurowings, back on November 1 with flights from three German cities: Berlin, Stuttgart and Cologne-Bonn. The airline plans 14 weekly flights across the three routes – daily from Berlin, four a week from Stuttgart and three from Cologne-Bonn – which is a solid spread of options for anyone flying between the UAE and Germany.
The comeback list doesn't stop there. British Airways resumes its daily London Heathrow service on November 3 and is expected to go twice daily next year, while Austrian Airlines returns on December 12 with Dubai–Vienna flights arriving just in time for the festive season.
A caveat worth knowing: not everyone is coming back this winter. Cathay Pacific, United Airlines, Air Canada and Virgin Atlantic have all pushed their Dubai returns to 2027, so if your plans involve Hong Kong, the US or Canada, check alternatives before booking.
Why it matters: more carriers on a route usually means better prices and more convenient timings, so anyone flying between Dubai and Europe this winter – in either direction – has a wider choice than a few weeks ago. For European travellers chasing winter sun, it means more direct access to Dubai; for UAE-based travellers, the restored Athens, Frankfurt, Munich, Zurich and Berlin links make a short-haul city break far easier to plan around Christmas markets, Alpine weekends or an island-hopping trip.
