Pizza fans in Dubai have a weekend circled on the calendar: Slice DXB, a two-day pizza festival, takes over the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre on November 6 and 7, running from 1pm to 10pm each day.
The premise is simple — the city's most talked-about pizza makers gathered in one amphitheatre. Household chains are represented by Domino's, Papa John's and Pizza Express, but the real draw is the indie line-up: Pull Me Pizzeria, The Italian Supper, Story Di Napoli, Rossovivo Artisan Pizza, Pro Pizzeria, Pizzette, Freedom Pizza, Mamma Italia, Maverick's Foody House and House Of Big Slice. Anyone needing a breather between slices, Desert Chill Ice Cream will be on hand for dessert.
It's not just eating. Six carnival tents are being set up with pizza-themed twists on Bingo, Jenga and box ball races. Music runs across both days too, with sets from The Nomads, The Sound Avenue and Daniel Batchelor.
Families are clearly part of the plan. There's a soft play zone, mini obstacle courses and a double-slide castle for younger kids, plus an interactive pizza-making masterclass where children can get hands-on with dough — a smart way to keep them busy while parents work through the stands.
Tickets are Dhs50 for adults and Dhs25 for under 21s, with children under five going free. That's roughly £10.50 and £5.25 respectively, so it's an easy-budget afternoon out. The venue sits on King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street in Media City, which is walkable from the Nakheel metro stop on the Red Line.
For travellers, the timing works nicely: the first weekend of November is when Dubai's weather starts turning pleasant after the long summer heat, making outdoor events like this genuinely enjoyable again. If you're in town around then, an evening of street pizza and live music under open skies is about as good as it gets — and booking through slicedxb.ae in advance is wise, since a one-location gathering of Dubai's best pizza spots is bound to pull a crowd.
