Two names familiar to Strictly Come Dancing fans are taking their ballroom act to sea. Vincent Simone and Michelle Tsiakkas — along with their professional dance partners Victoria Martin and Simone Arena — will launch a brand-new show called Eras when they join Saga Cruises' "Best of the Canaries" sailing this December.
The venue is fittingly glamorous: the Playhouse Theatre aboard Saga's Spirit of Discovery, a purpose-built theatre ship. Eras promises a tour through the history and highlights of Latin and ballroom dance across the decades, mixed with behind-the-scenes stories from the pair's time on the BBC series.
It won't just be a watch-from-your-seat affair. Passengers can sign up for a salsa session with Tsiakkas or a festive foxtrot workshop led by Simone, so even complete beginners can leave the cruise with a party trick or two.
There's variety beyond the dance floor too. Also joining the sailing is David Domoney, the chartered horticulturalist known from ITV's Love Your Garden and This Morning, who'll be speaking about the health benefits of gardening and time in nature.
The itinerary itself is the draw for anyone eyeing winter sun. The 14-night voyage departs Portsmouth on 6 December 2026 and hops around the Canary Islands, trading UK December gloom for Atlantic warmth. With Saga's limited-time promotion, fares start at £2,999 per person.
For Strictly devotees, it's a rare chance to see a brand-new show premiere in an intimate theatre, plus workshops you simply can't get at home. For everyone else, it's a Christmas-season escape to the Canaries with a decent entertainment line-up included — no ballot, no booking a West End show. Just note that Saga's boutique-style cruises skew adult-oriented, so this suits couples and solo travellers rather than families.
