Phuket has plenty of wellness retreats, but none quite like this. Clinique La Prairie — the Swiss medical spa brand that has been practising longevity medicine for nearly a century — has just opened its first Southeast Asian property, set inside the Tri Vananda wellness community amid forest on the Thai island.
The resort runs on the clinic's Longevity Method, a five-step process of assess, understand, personalize, intervene and continuously monitor. Every stay starts with a Longevity Master Assessment covering more than 300 biomarkers, letting the medical team — spanning cardiology, neurology, immunology and more — build a program around your results.
There are four signature programs, each a minimum of seven days and six nights with airport transfers included. Reverse Ageing (from about $39,000) targets immune strength and the visible and internal signs of ageing. Essence of Vitality (around $30,200) focuses on recovery and energy production. Master Detox (roughly $25,600) does what the name suggests, aiming to clear accumulated toxins and reduce inflammation. Life Reset (around $18,000) is the stress-buster, working on nervous-system rebalance. Shorter options include the three-night Discover Longevity intro and a Health Diagnostic stay for a full picture of your current health.
Accommodation comes in the form of 40 private pool villas with mountain and lake views, ranging from the roughly 1,300-square-foot Signature Villa to the 4,300-square-foot Royal Villa. Facilities include a 164-foot swimming pool, a Technogym fitness centre, the La Prairie Spa and Seeds, a restaurant built around longevity-focused dining.
The Thai opening is part of a deliberate push. The Global Wellness Institute values the global wellness economy at $6.8 trillion in 2024, forecast to reach nearly $9.8 trillion by 2029, with Asia the second-largest regional market at $2 trillion — Thailand's slice alone worth $42.7 billion. Group CEO Simone Gibertoni called the Phuket resort a defining step in taking the clinic's brand of scientific longevity care global.
Who is this for? Honestly, not budget travellers — this is medical-wellness tourism at premium prices, aimed at people who'd rather combine a serious health reset with a stay in tropical Thailand than fly to Montreux for the same diagnostics. If you've been curious about longevity medicine but want a shorter, lower-commitment taster, the three-night diagnostic stays are the sensible entry point before committing $18,000-plus to a full week.
