A rare private sale has knocked up to 25% off National Geographic-Lindblad expedition cruises for 2027, and the list of discounted sailings is unusually wide: Antarctica and Patagonia, Svalbard and the Norwegian fjords, Panama and Costa Rica, plus a handful of small-ship European routes. Booked through Scott & Thomas Travel, the offer applies to all cabin categories, including solo rooms, and most sailings throw in $100 per person of onboard credit.
The discount matters more here than it might on other lines, because Lindblad fares are genuinely all-inclusive. Excursions, kayaking, the open bar, Wi-Fi and even gratuities are baked into the price, so a 25% cut lands on a fare that already covers nearly everything aboard. Charter flights are the main exception — they're charged separately and not discounted, though on most itineraries you can skip them and make your own way to the ship.
Antarctica dominates the sale. Eight departures between January and March 2027 are on offer, from a nine-day Fly the Drake itinerary under $14,000 (down from $17,440) to the 16-day Quest for the Antarctic Circle at under $30,000 (was $39,250). The Drake-dodging fly options are worth noting if you're time-poor or nervous about the crossing; the sail-and-fly version adds $1,500 per person for the charter, full fly versions add $3,000. A Patagonia sailing through Chile's fjords is the budget entry at under $11,000.
Polar-bear hunters get four Svalbard sailings in spring 2027, starting under $11,000 for the nine-day Arctic Wildlife itinerary in late April, with an optional $1,000 charter and transfer package. On the warm-weather side, a Panama-only canal and Darién jungle trip on the National Geographic Quest comes in below $6,500, while a 12-day Panama-Costa Rica Pacific Coast voyage on the newer Greg Mortimer runs just under $10,000 — though that one doesn't qualify for the onboard credit.
Europe is where the value peaks. Celtic Coasts and Iberian Shores, running from Edinburgh to Lisbon via Northumberland, Cornwall, Brittany, Galicia and Porto, starts at $5,625 per person — the cheapest sailing in the whole sale. Food-focused travellers might prefer the two Food & Wine collaborations: Mediterranean Wonders (Sicily, Kefalonia, Delphi, plus a squeeze through the narrow Corinth Canal) and a Greece-and-Turkey voyage from Delos to Ephesus with nightly wine tastings. A nine-day Nordic flavours itinerary is the shortest and cheapest of the lot.
Caveats worth knowing: prices are per person, double occupancy, based on the lowest available room at time of publishing, and they can move. Solo travellers do get dedicated discounts. Because this is a private sale with limited inventory, the best cabins and solo rooms tend to disappear first — National Geographic-Lindblad rarely discounts this deeply, so if a sailing appeals, it's one to act on rather than watch.
