Siam Paragon on Rama I Road is hosting the final stop of the American Fair series, taking over Parc Paragon and the SCBX Next Tech space daily from 11am to 9pm through Sunday. The event marks 250 years since the founding of the United States, and Bangkok gets the send-off after the fair's earlier run through Hat Yai, Korat and Chiang Mai.

Food, music and exhibits on American history and culture are the backbone of the fair. On the main stage, expect live sets from the Carolina Jazz Ensemble, Mahidol University, the BMA Transit Administration, Fone Theeranat, Hard Rock Cafe and Yamaha Music School, plus swing dancing from the Jelly Roll Jazz Club and performances by US soldiers.

There is plenty to do beyond watching. The SCBX Next Tech area runs a "Your Name In Landset" activity using NASA satellite imagery, alongside talks from business and tech leaders. Game-players get a bullock ride challenge, an American trivia quiz, a bull ride challenge, a cooking contest with real chefs and an apple balance game.

A workshop with the US Marines, swing dance sessions and film screenings of titles like Grease, Toy Story, Back To The Future, Independence Day and Saving Private Ryan round out the programme.

The photo booth is the souvenir hub: visitors can paint their faces, jump into the "Freedom 250 Express Passport" challenge, collect trading cards and grab free popcorn and cotton candy while browsing a US Mission Thailand and partner exhibition.

For travellers already in Bangkok this weekend, it's an easy, free-feeling stop between shopping and the city's bigger sights — and a quirky way to see how enthusiastically Thailand marks American milestones. Families with kids get the games and snacks; culture-spotters get the live music and exhibits; and anyone curious about the US-Thailand relationship gets it framed in a light, festival setting rather than a museum.
