Calgary's favourite summer street party is putting on a winter coat. The Inglewood Holiday Night Market — the festive, indoor offshoot of the popular Inglewood Night Market — returns to The Quonset at Crossroads Market this November, with more than 60 local vendors, food, and live entertainment across six evenings.

The summer edition of the Inglewood Night Market takes over the streets around 10th Avenue and 10th Street SE in Calgary's oldest neighbourhood, drawing crowds with over 100 vendors and food trucks. The holiday version swaps the open street for a covered, heated venue — a sensible move given Calgary's November evenings — while keeping the same independent-maker spirit. Expect handmade gifts, jewellery, clothing, Christmas decor, and plenty of stocking-stuffer material from local creators.

The market runs Friday and Saturday evenings, 4 to 9 p.m., over three consecutive weekends: November 13–14, November 20–21, and November 27–28. Admission is $5, and it's free for kids under 12 and seniors 65 and over, which makes it an easy family outing.

Missed the November dates? There's a second act. The organizers are also staging The Last Stop Shop on Saturday, December 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the same space. It brings the same roster of 60-plus vendors back for one final pre-Christmas shopping day — and unlike the night market, it's completely free to attend. If you're the type who leaves gift-buying until the last possible weekend, this is your safety net.

For visitors, the market is a good excuse to explore Inglewood itself. The neighbourhood is packed with independent shops, record stores, cafes, and breweries along 9th Avenue SE, and it sits just across the Bow River from the East Village and the Calgary Stampede grounds. Crossroads Market, the host venue at 1235 26th Ave. SE, is a long-standing weekend flea and farmers' market in the city's southeast, so you can make an afternoon of it.

Who it's for: anyone in or around Calgary doing holiday shopping who'd rather support local makers than add another mall to the list, plus travellers passing through in November or December looking for an evening activity that doesn't require braving the cold. At $5 a head (or nothing on December 19), the entry fee won't dent the gift budget, and the heated indoor setting means the weather is a non-issue. Pair it with dinner at one of Inglewood's restaurants and you've got a solid low-key night out.

Dates to note: November 13–14, 20–21, and 27–28 from 4 to 9 p.m., then the free Last Stop Shop on December 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., all at The Quonset at Crossroads Market, 1235 26th Ave. SE.
