If it feels like you've been hearing about Europe's new ETIAS travel authorization system forever, you're not imagining things.
The European Union is delaying the rollout yet again, this time pushing the launch to late 2026 at the earliest. The visa waiver program, which would require travelers from visa-exempt countries to register online before visiting, has been repeatedly postponed.
For now, US and UK travelers can continue visiting Europe without additional paperwork. But eventually, ETIAS will arrive — and when it does, budget €7 and 10 minutes of your time.
