Marriott Bonvoy has quietly launched its second global promotion of the year, and while it won't set anyone's pulse racing, it's free money if you're already booking Marriott stays this autumn. The catch: you have to register before your first eligible stay, and people who forget typically earn nothing.

Here's how it works. Members earn 1,500 bonus points for any paid stay of two or more nights, and that jumps to 4,500 points if the stay is at a resort. The promotion covers stays between September 22 and November 22, 2026 — it applies regardless of when you booked, but registration must happen before your first stay and closes on November 13, 2026.

A few terms matter. Only cash-paid stays count, so award nights and Cash + Points bookings are excluded. You need to set Bonvoy points (not airline miles) as your earning preference, and the bonus applies to just one room per stay, even if you book several. Points usually post within about 10 days of checkout. This is a blanket offer, not targeted — if the registration link misbehaves, it's almost certainly a glitch, so try a different browser or the app, or find it under the "promotions" tab in your account.

So what's it actually worth? At a rough valuation of 0.7 cents per Bonvoy point, 1,500 points is about $10.50 in value per hotel stay, and 4,500 points is roughly $33 per resort stay. Modest, frankly — especially when you remember you need a two-night minimum on a cash rate. The two-month window is short, too. For context, Bonvoy members normally earn 10x points per dollar at most brands (5x at select limited-service properties), stacked with elite bonuses ranging from 10% for Silver up to 75% for Titanium and Ambassador members. Add a co-branded credit card earning up to 6x per dollar and heavy users can hit over 20x per dollar — the promo bonus is a garnish, not the meal.

Still, if your autumn travel already includes a resort getaway, the extra 4,500 points per stay is the best version of this deal, and there's no downside to registering. Just don't build a trip around it: this is a top-up for stays you'd take anyway, not a reason to book one. Anyone with a Marriott reservation coming up between late September and late November should register now, before the November 13 deadline, and double-check that points — not miles — are set as their preference.
