Abu Dhabi's cooler months are when the beach actually becomes usable, and Saadiyat Beach Club has lined up a winter programme aimed squarely at long, lazy weekends. The club on Saadiyat Island has rolled out six experiences running through the season, from themed dinner nights to festive takeaways, and most of them come with prices attached — handy if you're budgeting a Gulf city break.

The weekly rhythm looks like this. Thursdays are for The Mediterranean Table, a sharing-style beachside dinner with breads, mezze, mains and desserts from 6pm to 10pm at Dhs275 per person. Fridays ramp things up with a Gourmet BBQ Night — live-fire grilled meats and seafood, shared desserts and acoustic music, timed for sunset, at Dhs295. Saturdays belong to Safina, the club's signature restaurant, which hosts a Farm to Beach Brunch from 1pm to 4pm with Mediterranean seafood, salads, sushi, live BBQ and fresh pasta. Packages run from Dhs375 soft to Dhs575 premium, and adding Dhs200 gets you a full day pass so the brunch turns into a whole day by the water.

If you're in town over the holidays, there's a Turkey Takeaway option: a roasted turkey with truffle mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce and jus at Dhs749 for a 5-6kg bird, or a roast lamb leg with mint sauce at Dhs649. Orders need 72 hours' notice and the service runs from November 27, 2026 to January 3, 2027, with pick-up at Safina or delivery within Saadiyat Residences.

For travellers not staying on the island, the day pass is probably the most useful item on the list. It covers the infinity pool, gym and the private beach, with pricing that shifts by day and group: women pay Dhs199-325 depending on the day (weekday rates include a snack and drink from 12pm to 4pm), men Dhs295-375, couples Dhs399-599, and families (two adults, two kids aged six to 12) Dhs559 on weekdays or Dhs759 on weekends. Regulars — think wintering expats or frequent Dubai-Abu Dhabi hoppers — can look at memberships from one to 12 months, starting at Dhs2,500 for a single month and including perks like guest passes, F&B discounts and, on longer plans, access to nearby Kai Beach.

Why it matters: Saadiyat Island has become Abu Dhabi's most polished beach district, close to the Louvre Abu Dhabi and the island's natural attractions, and this gives day visitors a structured way to enjoy it without a resort booking. If your winter trip includes a weekend in the capital, the Saturday brunch-plus-day-pass combo at Dhs575-775 is the standout value play. Bookings for dinners, brunch and passes go through the club on 02 656 3500.
