Whistler Blackcomb is stacking up reasons to book a BC ski trip next winter, and there's a deadline attached: Epic Pass prices rise after November 15, so anyone eyeing the 2026/27 season should lock in early.

The headline infrastructure news is the Showcase Chair, a new quad replacing the old Showcase T-Bar on Blackcomb. It opens up 215 acres of high-alpine terrain across the Horstman and Blackcomb glaciers, with better trail connections — more actual skiing, less huffing across flats.

The on-mountain food scene is getting a refresh too. The Roundhouse on Whistler is adding a Champagne and caviar service on Steeps' patio alongside a new menu, while Pika's coffee bar gets a makeover with comfort food and hot drinks. Over on Blackcomb, Christine's is launching 'On the Rocks' — an ice bar with cocktails, outdoor lounge seating and fire pits. Apres just got more competitive for your afternoon.

For skiers who want more than lift access, there are two new guided options. Dawn Patrol gets you first tracks on freshly groomed runs before the resort opens, guided by Whistler heli-skiing professionals. More ambitiously, Ski or Ride with an Olympian pairs you with a former Olympic athlete for on-mountain coaching through the Snow School. And if you want to go properly big, Whistler Heli-Skiing offers access to 432,000 acres of terrain and more than 170 glaciers, with packages from beginner-friendly up to unlimited A-Star.

Which pass makes sense? The full Epic Pass gives unlimited access to all 42 Vail Resorts destinations including Whistler Blackcomb, plus partner resorts taking the total above 90 mountains worldwide — the committed-laptime choice. New this year, a Young Adult Pass cuts 20 percent off the Epic Pass price for ages 13 to 30. The Epic Day Pass suits flexible travellers: pick your number of days, no fixed dates, and buying before the season starts saves up to 65 percent versus walk-up lift tickets. Locals should note the EDGE Card, offering discounted one-to-10-day access for eligible residents of Canada and Washington State.

The practical takeaway is simple: buy before November 15 if any of this is on your radar. Whether it's a glacier run at 2,000-plus metres, a cocktail by a fire pit, or a race line handed down by an Olympian, Whistler's winter 2026/27 upgrades reward early planners.
