American Express has quietly rolled out personalised welcome bonuses on its Business Platinum Card, and some applicants are now seeing the richest offer the card has ever carried: 300,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $20,000 in the first three months. Amex shows you your individual offer during the application process, so you can check what you've been targeted for before committing.

According to The Points Guy's October 2026 valuations, that top-tier bonus is worth up to $6,000 — and potentially more if you transfer points to partners like Singapore Airlines for premium cabin redemptions. The catch is the spend requirement: $20,000 in three months is a real hurdle, and this card has always been aimed at businesses with employees and meaningful monthly expenses, not solo travellers putting a few hundred dollars a month on plastic.

There's also the fee to weigh up. The Business Platinum carries an $895 annual fee, among the steepest on the business card market. What offsets it is a long list of statement credits — Dell (up to $1,150), ChatGPT Business (up to $300), Adobe ($250), airline incidentals (up to $200), Hilton stays (up to $200), Clear+ ($219), wireless bills ($120), Global Entry or TSA PreCheck fee coverage every four years, and Indeed recruiting credits. Most require advance enrollment, and some come with minimum-spend conditions, so the value only materialises if you'd genuinely use them anyway.

Beyond the credits, the card earns 5x on flights and prepaid hotels booked through Amex Travel, 2x on big-ticket purchases of $5,000 or more, US software and cloud services, and construction suppliers (up to $2 million per year), plus Hilton and Marriott Gold status, Leaders Club Sterling status, lounge access, cellphone protection up to $800 per claim, and 35% of points back when you book paid flights with a selected airline through Amex Travel. Businesses charging $250,000 a year unlock another $3,600 in credits the following year, largely tied to Amex's One AP accounts-payable platform.

One rule matters more than any perk: Amex grants just one welcome bonus per card per lifetime. Since offers are personalised and fluctuate, patience is the standard advice — if you're not targeted for the full 300,000 points now, it may pay to wait. And because the personal and business Platinum are treated as separate products, holding (or having previously held) the personal card doesn't block you from earning the business bonus, nor does owning other Amex business cards.

For travellers who run a business or freelance with genuine expenses, this is one of those offers worth a five-minute eligibility check — the worst outcome is finding out you were only targeted for a lower bonus, in which case you simply walk away. Points enthusiasts will want to move quickly if they see the headline number.
