Fiji wants to be more than a stop on a cruise map — and judging by its 2027 line-up, it's succeeding. Tourism Fiji says nearly every major name in cruising will feature the 333-island nation next year, from Norwegian Cruise Line and Regent Seven Seas to Silversea, Crystal, Windstar and National Geographic Expeditions.

The range of itineraries is unusually broad. Norwegian's South Pacific Adventures sail out of Suva or Lautoka in May, October and December 2027, finishing in Australia or French Polynesia. National Geographic Expeditions runs a 16-day voyage in April and May from Tahiti to Fiji, while Ponant/Paul Gauguin, Windstar and Silversea are all selling routes that link Fiji eastward to Aitutaki, Bora Bora, Moorea and Tahiti — no inter-island flights required. For anyone who has priced a hop between remote Pacific islands, that alone is a reason to pay attention.

Smaller ships are getting in on it too. New Zealand's Heritage Expeditions launches an 11-day sailing in March 2027 aboard the Heritage Adventurer, calling at Savusavu, Fulanga and Taveuni, plus reefs, rainforests and villages that rarely see international visitors. Closer to home, local operator Blue Lagoon Cruises has added the 45-metre Yasawa Princess II, a 44-guest, 22-cabin vessel whose shallow draft lets it reach lagoons and anchorages that bigger ships simply can't access — including the company's own private beach in the Yasawas.

The timing makes sense. August 2026 was Fiji's busiest-ever month for international arrivals, and cruising is how the destination hopes to spread visitors beyond the familiar resort hubs of Viti Levu and the Mamanucas. Tourism Fiji is positioning the country both as a standalone cruise destination — think weaving through the Yasawa island chain — and as the natural start or end point for a wider South Pacific voyage.

Why should this matter to you? Because 2027 is a genuinely good year to book. Whether you want a small-ship expedition through remote reef systems, a big-ship repositioning cruise that doubles as a Pacific crossing, or a short island-hopping sailing you can pair with a resort stay, there's a Fiji-based option at almost every budget and pace. And with departures spread across March, April, May, October and December, you can time your trip around dry-season sailing or chase the sun in the southern winter.
