So what's actually on during Art Week? Material Art Fair is the big draw for anyone interested in emerging galleries and younger artists. Salon ACME puts local talent in historic spaces, while BADA and Feria Territorio work as direct-to-buyer markets — useful if you're shopping rather than browsing. Zona Maco is the heavyweight: a large collective showcase of international galleries spanning art, design and antiques. Between the official programming, the city fills up with pop-ups, gallery openings, music and food.
Why bother with a hosted group rather than doing it solo? Art Week is sprawling — events are scattered across the city, popular dinners and fairs get booked out, and local knowledge genuinely changes what you can access. A structured base in Condesa with a food expert on hand removes most of the logistics. It also suits travellers who like the small-group dynamic: you're bunking with creatives and like-minded guests rather than a tour bus crowd.
