Saudi low-cost carrier flyadeal has a soft spot for 23 September — it's both the Kingdom's National Day and the date the airline flew its very first flight, from Jeddah to Riyadh, back in 2017. Nine years on, it's marking the occasion with a set of fare and loyalty deals aimed at getting people moving around Saudi Arabia.

The headline offer is a 96% cashback promotion, capped at SAR 300 (about €70) per booking, run with the Saudi Tourism Authority. Book eligible domestic flights between 20 and 27 September 2026, for travel between 4 October and 20 December 2026, on the flyadeal website or app using the code SNDAY. The deal covers all fare bundles and selected domestic routes, but there's a limit of 16,500 vouchers — and the cashback only lands in your account after you've flown, with vouchers valid until 31 December 2026. Effectively, a domestic flight for the price of a coffee.

Loyal flyers get a second bite: Alfursan members booking the flyMax bundle can earn 96% extra Alfursan Miles on top of the existing 100% Reward Miles bonus on eligible domestic flights. That one applies to cash bookings only, with bookings made between 19 and 30 September 2026 and travel completed by 31 December 2026.

There was a showpiece element too: flyadeal flew an Airbus A320 in the Saudi National Day Airshow over Jeddah, with a rehearsal on 19 September ahead of the main display on 20 September.

Acting CEO Sanjiv Kapoor framed the campaign as part of the bigger picture — supporting domestic tourism growth under Saudi Vision 2030, the Kingdom's push to turn itself into a serious tourism destination. For travellers, that ambition translates into cheaper flights, new routes and improving infrastructure, and flyadeal's own growth from a single Jeddah–Riyadh service to a wide domestic and international network is a fair marker of how quickly things are changing.

Why it matters: if you've been curious about Saudi Arabia beyond Riyadh — AlUla's desert scenery, the Red Sea coast, Jeddah's old town — a nearly-free domestic leg is about as low-risk an entry point as it gets. Just note the booking window is short (roughly a week in late September) and the voucher cap means the best deals will go early.
