Anyone who has tried stitching together a night train from London knows the friction: Eurostar in one tab, European Sleeper in another, and a silent prayer that the timings line up. That changes with a new tie-up between European Sleeper and Choo-Choo, a cross-border rail booking platform, which lets travellers buy a Eurostar seat and a night train ticket in a single booking on europeansleeper.eu.
The practical upshot is simple. From London, you take Eurostar to Brussels, where you can connect onto a European Sleeper overnight service. Those night trains fan out to Berlin, Cologne, Prague, Dresden, Hamburg, Milan, Lake Como and Aarau, among others. One-way combined fares start at roughly €100 for London to Berlin.
It matters because Eurostar still runs the only trains through the Channel Tunnel, and until now it sold tickets mainly to a handful of nearby cities: Paris, Lille, Brussels, Rotterdam and Amsterdam. Going further meant booking separately and hoping for the best. The Brussels routing is the key workaround here, since the other Eurostar destinations can't yet be booked through European Sleeper's site. The company says it plans to extend the feature to more cities and territories.
There's a caveat worth knowing before you book. Transfers are scheduled with generous connection times, but they aren't protected. If a delay makes you miss your night train, replacement transport isn't automatically arranged and extra costs may be yours to cover. Customer support is also split: European Sleeper handles its own leg, while Choo-Choo deals with the connecting segments.
For rail fans and carbon-conscious travellers, this is a genuine step towards treating a London-to-Prague trip as one journey rather than a DIY patchwork. The night train renaissance has been building for years, but fragmented ticketing has been its weak point — and this partnership goes some way to fixing that.
