Voting is officially open to name the 7 Wonders of Future Cities, a new campaign from New7Wonders — the organisation behind the famous New 7 Wonders of the World and New 7 Wonders of Nature polls. The switch-on ceremony took place in New Clark City in the Philippines on 1 November 2026, deliberately timed to World Cities Day, with the campaign website flipping from showcase mode to a live global ballot at www.7wondersfc.com.
Unlike previous campaigns that crowned natural landscapes and historic monuments, this one looks forward rather than back. Instead of temples, reefs and mountains, voters are being asked to champion the urban developments they think best represent how cities should grow: projects built around three themes — Environmental & Nature, Smart City and Human-Centric development. The idea is that a successful future city needs all three: ecological responsibility, smart technology and a genuine focus on the people who actually live there.
New Clark City itself was an obvious host. It's one of the Philippines' flagship new urban developments and an Official Participant in the campaign, so the ceremony doubled as a showcase for the kind of project the vote is celebrating. Jean-Paul de la Fuente, Director of New7Wonders and Chairman of the campaign, led the switch-on alongside city leaders and media, framing the vote as the start of "a global conversation about the future of our cities".
The campaign runs for a full year, with the seven winning cities and developments due to be declared on 31 October 2027. New7Wonders' earlier campaigns have pulled in more than 600 million votes between them, so expect this one to generate some serious public engagement — and, for the projects on the shortlist, a potentially huge tourism profile boost.
For travellers, it's worth keeping an eye on. The campaign doubles as a curated list of the new urban developments most worth watching — and in some cases visiting — from green master-planned districts to tech-forward city hubs. Whether or not your favourite makes the final seven, following the year-long vote is a handy way to track where the next generation of interesting city breaks will come from. The campaign is organised by Global Platform Limited, New7Wonders' Dubai-based commercial arm.
If you want a say, voting is free and open to anyone via the campaign website.
