Sandals has a busy winter ahead in Jamaica: three of its all-inclusive resorts are coming back online after major overhauls, and one of them is getting a whole new identity.

First to return is Sandals Jamaica South Coast on November 18, 2026. This one sits beside a 500-acre protected nature reserve, so the vibe is quieter and greener than the brand's Montego Bay properties. The redesign includes a reimagined pool, more open spaces oriented toward the surrounding coast and vegetation, plus dining spots Butch's Island Chop House and Blüm, a coffee stop, alongside refreshed rooms and menus.

Then on December 18, two Montego Bay resorts reopen just ahead of the holidays. Sandals Jamaica Montego Bay is the brand's original property, dating back to 1981, and it's getting one of the more substantial refreshes. The arrival area now opens toward the ocean, and there's a new pool and beach bar on the private white-sand beach. The food lineup is the real story: Buccan brings open-hearth cooking, a new rum bar leans into Jamaican spirits, Heart & Sol covers the lighter, healthier end, and there's a seafood restaurant right by the shore.

The bigger identity shift belongs to the former Sandals Royal Caribbean, which returns as Sandals Jamaica Caribbean Cay. The new name leans into its defining feature — a private island just offshore — where the new Parisol Beach Club will anchor afternoons of cocktails and swimming, reached by a short boat ride. Back on the mainland side, a new restaurant called Suppa focuses on authentic Jamaican recipes, and the resort's distinctive heart-shaped overwater suites are also getting upgrades, though room-level specifics haven't been fully detailed yet.

So which one suits you? Montego Bay is the pick if you want the classic lively beachfront Sandals experience with the widest new dining range. Caribbean Cay adds a genuine escape-within-a-stay via the offshore beach club and overwater accommodation — often the most photographed corner of the portfolio. South Coast is the low-key option, trading nightlife energy for reserve-framed coast and earlier access, since it opens a full month before the others.

Worth flagging for anyone planning a winter Caribbean trip: the staggered dates create real choices. A late-November getaway can now include South Coast, while the two Montego Bay properties slot neatly into Christmas and New Year bookings. All three reopenings arrive as part of a broader Sandals investment across its Jamaica portfolio, so returning guests will find noticeably different resorts than the ones they left.
