Banyan Group Residences is setting up shop in Hong Kong again, with a two-day showcase of six Laguna Phuket developments at the Mandarin Oriental on 7 and 8 November 2026, running 11:00 to 18:00 in the Alexandra Room.

The interesting part is not the properties themselves so much as what the event signals. According to Stuart Reading, the company's managing director, Hong Kong buyers who once snapped up Phuket apartments as occasional boltholes are increasingly relocating or settling long term. Across Phuket, foreign buyers now account for more than 60% of condominium purchases, and Laguna Phuket's community of over 1,000 acres hosts more than 70 nationalities year round. Banyan's first-half sales were up 38% year on year, and it plans up to USD 1 billion of new Phuket projects over the next two to three years.

The six developments on show skew heavily towards the top end. Banyan Tree Beach Residences Nerea is just six three-bedroom duplexes between the lagoons and Bang Tao Beach, each with a private pool and home gym. Oceanus offers sixteen absolute beachfront residences with up to 768 square metres of space. Varuna adds eight four-bedroom townhomes with private lifts, garden terraces and rooftop infinity pools facing the Andaman sunset. On the gentler end of the budget, Angsana Golf Residences Topaz and the two Bellaguna projects (Golf and Lake) offer one- to three-bedroom condos and penthouses overlooking Laguna Golf Phuket or the lagoon, with private rooftop pools on selected units.

Buyers get Sanctuary Club membership with perks at Banyan hotels, RAVA Beach Club and Laguna Golf, a year of property management, and the option of handing the place to Banyan Living for rental and management when they are not in residence. Banyan's residence arm was ranked first in Asia and fifth globally for branded residences in Savills' 2025-26 rankings.

For travellers, this reads as a snapshot of where Phuket is heading: from party-and-pool holiday island towards a genuine mixed community of golf, beach, wellness and full-time expat living, particularly around Bang Tao and the Laguna estate. If you have ever idly priced out a Thai second home, the Hong Kong showcase is a low-effort way to compare six products side by side, from lock-and-leave condos to beachfront trophy homes.
