Dubai's luxury hotel scene has two more reasons to brag. In the 2026 World's 50 Best Hotels ranking, Atlantis The Royal and Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab both landed in the global top 15 — and both moved up from last year.
Atlantis The Royal is now ranked No. 4 in the world, up from No. 6 in 2025. The Palm Jumeirah resort has had a remarkable run since opening in 2023: it debuted at No. 44, jumped to No. 9 in 2024, then No. 6, and now sits just outside the podium. The six connected towers hold 795 rooms and suites, plus a serious line-up of dining — restaurants from Heston Blumenthal, José Andrés, Nobu and Carbone are all on site. Add private beaches, the rooftop Cloud 22, the Royal Pool and the AWAKEN Wellness facilities, and it's easy to see why voters keep moving it up the list.
The newer name is Jumeirah Marsa Al Arab, which climbed from No. 20 to No. 15 in only its second year on the ranking. The hotel opened in March 2025 and completes Jumeirah's nautical-themed trio next to Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Beach Hotel — the building itself is shaped like a superyacht, with rooms angled towards views of the Arabian Gulf and the Dubai coastline. Inside there are 386 rooms, four pools, a private beach, an 82-berth yacht marina, a three-storey spa and 11 restaurants.
So what does this mean for travellers? Both properties are among the most recognisable stays in the city, and the rankings give a useful shortcut if you're weighing up a splurge in Dubai. Atlantis The Royal suits travellers who want a resort-within-a-resort: multiple celebrity-chef restaurants, big pools and plenty to do without leaving the property. Marsa Al Arab feels slightly more boutique in scale and leans into its maritime design, with the bonus of being directly beside the sail-shaped Burj Al Arab. If neither fits the budget, both still set the tone for what high-end Dubai looks like right now — and the surrounding Jumeirah and Palm Jumeirah areas are packed with more affordable options nearby.
