Portimão's Autódromo Internacional do Algarve is running a clever two-for-one deal on history. Anyone who buys at least two tickets in a single transaction for this November's MotoGP Portuguese Grand Prix gets priority access to seats for Formula 1's return to the Algarve in June 2027 — a race few European circuits can claim to host alongside MotoGP in back-to-back seasons.

The mechanics are straightforward but have deadlines. MotoGP runs from November 20 to 22, 2026, and eligible purchases must be made through the official event website by 11.59pm on October 31. Already bought? You're covered too, as long as your earlier order included two valid tickets bought together. Qualifying fans will get a window to buy up to two F1 tickets before general sales open, with dates and details sent by email later.

A few catches worth knowing. You'll need to confirm eligibility using the same email address tied to your MotoGP order, after which you'll receive a personal, one-time code that can't be transferred. The offer covers grandstand and general admission tickets, but not the Main Grandstand or hospitality packages. And crucially, this is early access, not a discount — F1 tickets are sold at normal public prices, subject to availability, and the allocation is limited enough that it could sell out before the exclusive window even closes. Jaime Costa, CEO of the circuit operator AIA, framed it as a chance for fans to catch two of the world's biggest racing series at one internationally recognised track.

For travellers, the logic is easy to see. The Algarve in November is mild and quiet, and a MotoGP weekend is a good excuse for a shoulder-season trip to Portimão's beaches and seafood restaurants without the summer crowds. Then, if you use the early-access route, you're back in June 2027 — peak season, but for F1 dates (June 18 to 20) that will otherwise be a scramble when public sales open. Race weekends at coastal circuits sell fast, especially a return engagement like this one.

The practical play: if you were already considering the MotoGP race, buying a pair of tickets before October 31 costs you nothing extra and buys you a spot in the F1 queue. If you only want Formula 1, you can wait for the general sale — just know you'll be competing with everyone who took the early-access shortcut. Either way, book accommodation in the Portimão area early for both weekends; grand prix dates turn the Algarve's hotels into a seller's market.
