Next summer's holiday options just got a lot broader. Ryanair and easyJet have together put 47 new routes on sale for summer 2027, with a clear tilt towards connecting smaller and regional UK airports to beaches and city breaks across Europe.
easyJet is leading the regional push with 18 new routes from 10 UK airports, reaching eight countries including Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Montenegro and Bulgaria. Ten of those routes will have no direct competition, which matters if you live outside London. First-timers on the map include Girona, and there are some genuinely useful new links: Aberdeen to Barcelona for the first time, Edinburgh to Bilbao, Hamburg and Rome Fiumicino, Newcastle to Larnaca, and London Southend to Rhodes. Scotland does particularly well with six new routes in total, including Aberdeen to Palma and Edinburgh to Tivat on Montenegro's Adriatic coast. easyJet will also be the sole carrier on Birmingham–Milan Malpensa, Liverpool–Murcia, Gatwick–Ajaccio and Bristol–Montpellier. Dates vary: the Liverpool Girona service starts 28 March running twice weekly, while Gatwick–Girona begins 3 June with three weekly flights.
Ryanair's 29 routes sit inside what it calls a bumper 2027 schedule of more than 2,500 routes across 230 destinations, many already bookable. From the UK, Birmingham gains Wrocław and East Midlands picks up Gdańsk, while Leeds Bradford is a surprise winner with three new links — Budapest, Tirana and Corfu. Newcastle gets Reus and Rhodes, and there are new Porto services from Exeter and Bournemouth. Elsewhere in the network, expect flights like Palermo to Marrakesh, Kraków to Tangier and Alicante to Naples.
The overall pattern is easy to read: budget carriers are spreading capacity away from the big London hubs towards regional airports, and opening up a few less obvious pairs — Ajaccio, Tivat, Tirana and Tangier among them — for summer 2027. That's good news if you'd rather not schlep to Heathrow or Gatwick for a week in the sun.
One practical note from the announcement: with fuel costs fluctuating and airlines trimming winter schedules, booking early looks like the safer strategy for popular summer dates. If one of these routes suits your plans, locking in a fare now could save both money and stress as next summer gets closer.
