Krabi's hotel scene is about to get a serious new player. Centara Hotels & Resorts will open Centara Reserve Krabi in February 2027, the second property in its upmarket Reserve collection and the first Reserve outside the brand's debut property.
The location is the headline act: Pai Plong Bay, a secluded beachfront spot near Ao Nang enclosed by limestone cliffs and Andaman Sea views. It's the kind of setting that's hard to replicate, and the resort leans into it with 119 rooms, suites and villas — including private pool accommodation and beachfront villas.
Food-wise, there are six restaurants and bars. Two standouts: Salt Society Beach Bar & Kitchen on the sand, and Ember, a grill-focused venue built around premium cuts, seafood and Thai flavours cooked over fire.
Wellness gets its own wing of the story. Reserve Spa Cenvaree is built around a concept called The Healing Cove, blending Thai healing traditions with sea-inspired design, and backed by an infrared sauna with red light therapy, an ice bath, hot-and-cold pools, a gym and a yoga pavilion. Families aren't an afterthought either — the Reserve Wanderers kids' programme is built around play and discovery, and there are event spaces for private celebrations.
What separates Reserve from Centara's mainstream brands is the personalisation angle. Every stay is shaped around four "Reserve Stories" — Time, Space, Culture and Touch — with dedicated Reserve Hosts arranging tailored excursions around Krabi's islands, waters and local communities rather than off-the-shelf tours.
There's an opening offer worth knowing about, cheekily named "Founders Reserve Krabi." It bundles daily breakfast, a daily-replenished in-room cocktail station, an electric boat transfer, a welcome gift and a weekly social gathering. Tiered perks follow your length of stay: three nights gets you B1,500 resort credit plus a 30-minute couples' spa treatment; five nights adds a one-way airport transfer, B5,000 credit and a 60-minute treatment; ten nights brings return transfers, B10,000 credit, a 90-minute treatment, a private Chef's Table dinner and daily laundry. You'll need to book by December 5 for stays between February 1 and June 30, 2027.
Why it matters: Krabi has long played second fiddle to Phuket for international travellers, but properties like this push it firmly into luxury territory — and Pai Plong Bay is far quieter than Ao Nang's main strip. If you've been waiting for a reason to book the Andaman coast beyond the usual island-hopping, this is a solid one, and the opening-rate perks are generous enough to justify locking in early.
